Barclaycard will for the first time provide its customers who are blind with a special Braille edition of its Barclaycard Care pack which gives advice and information about the services offered with Barclaycard - the UK's leading credit card.
The Barclaycard Care pack provides information and advice on Bardaycard International Rescue. A cash and card replacement and emergency holiday helpline - Bardaycard Purchase Cover Insurance for 100 days on items costing more than 50 pounds and Bardaycard Assist - 24 hour customer helpline for domestic. legal or roadside emergencies, all of which are complementarv services available free to anyone with a Bardaycard.
The new braille information pack is an extension of the services currently provided for blind and partially sighted customers by Bardaycard. Since 1991, Bardaycard has been providing customers with specially tailored monthly statements in either Braille or large print.
A letter will be sent to customers with the new Braille Bardaycard pack encouraging cardholders to register their interest in receiving further information from Bardaycard in Braille.
There are currently around 1.5 million blind people in the United Kingdom, 13.000 ofwhom read and use Braille as part of their everyday lives.
