A new comprehensive and colourful canal holiday brochure has just been launchec. The 'Drifters' brochure, which offers 45,000 canal holidays and 3000 hotel boat holidays next year, will make it easy for potential boaters to find out all about boating holidays.
A telephone call to the special 'Drifters' information line 0345 626252 (local call rate) will result in delivery of the brochure within four days.
The 'Drifters' brochure describes what a canal boat holiday is like and points holidaymakers toward the areas and types of boat which will best suit their needs. Over 250,000 people hire holiday boats on Britain's inland waterways every year.
Rob Bell, Chairman of Drifters, said: "A canal boat holiday is certainly one of the fastest ways of slowing down. By taking to the water, you can discover the 'secret' Britain that most tourists will never see. There's a personal sense of discovery as you pass historic buildings, remote villages, market towns, fascinating wildlife reserves and sites of national importance. It's no exaggeration to say that a fresh surprise awaits around every bend.
"Narrowboats boast fully fitted kitchens, flush toliets, showers, double beds and televisions. Navigating a boat is very easy- and every hire boat operator gives full instruction. It's a holiday for all the family children, parents and even grandparents."
British Waterways, which runs the country's canals, has joined with Britain's leading independent canal hire boat companies to produce the brochure. 'Drifters' is part of a continuing campaign to tempt more people to try out a boating holiday. Research shows that once tried, boaters return year after year to explore more of Britain's 2,000 miles of inland waterways.
